The Washburn Cultural Center is located on US Hwy 13, seven miles north of US Hwy 2, equidistant between Duluth, MN and Ironwood, MI. Washburn is the County Seat of Bayfield County. Our historic 1890 brownstone bank building is listed on both the State and National Register of Historic Places.

Washburn Cultural Center has a unique and extensive Permanent Fine Art Collection on display year round.  Washburn Area Historical Society's Museum highlights our rich and colorful local heritage.  We host rotating gallery shows in various media (see Calendar of Events). We are also a venue for classes, conferences, workshops, meetings, public and private parties, weddings, receptions, accomodating groups of any size up to 150.
